Distinguished Speakers Dinner 2019 - Professor David Reynolds FBA

Wednesday, May 15, 2019 19:00 - 23:30

"June 1944: Two D-Days and a Funeral"

Prodding us to think in new ways about the Normandy landings, 75 years on

We are delighted to invite you to attend our next Distinguished Speakers Dinner on Wednesday 15 May at the Oxford & Cambridge Club, London.

We invite you to join renowned historian and current Fellow of Christ's Professor David Reynolds, who will be encouraging us once again to think in fresh ways about familiar aspects of our national past. David has been a little coy about explaining his title, but the talk is likely to draw on his recent book with Russian historian Vladimir Pechatnov - The Kremlin Letters: Stalin's Wartime Correspondence with Churchill and Roosevelt. He promises "a mixture of big picture and vivid anecdote to illuminate one of the most dramatic months of the twentieth century."

The Distinguished Speakers Dinner Series aims to bring alumni together in a convivial atmosphere to hear after-dinner talks from distinguished alumni and friends of the College.

The evening will begin with a drinks reception at 7.00pm, followed by a three-course dinner at 7:45pm. Tickets are priced at £95 per person to cover costs, and you are welcome to bring guests.

To book your place(s), please click the following link to go through to our booking page, or contact Robert Smith by email, or on his telephone number 01223 334 919.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Robert via the details above.
