Over the summer, our students continue to educate and enjoy themselves in a huge variety of ways. These include using their historical and communication skills in the public arena.
Recent History graduate Esme Smith, a native of Liverpool, worked for three months at the Thiepval Memorial, at the centre of the Somme battlefield, helping visitors from many countries to understand the 1916 battle and the memorial. Satine Homsi, a Parisienne reading History & Politics, spent a couple of months in her home city introducing visitors for the Olympics, to the history and culture of Paris. She led a team of volunteers based at (yes!) the Eiffel Tower.
Esme and Satine will share their experiences of Public History in conversation with History Fellow, David Reynolds.
