In 2007, the two College rowing associations, Friends of Christ's College Boat Club and Blades, were merged under the name of Blades.
The main goals for the new association were to bring together, and maintain contact with, CCBC Alumni, as well as to generate additional support for the Boat Club, to help it continue to flourish, and produce world-class rowers.
All former rowers are members of this Association, and are invited to annual Alumni events, including the May Bumps Picnic at Osier Holt in Fen Ditton, as well as Blades Regattas and Reunions.

Financial support from alumni and friends of the Boat Club provides much-needed extra income, enabling it to buy and maintain equipment, provide good coaching, and enter more races. Benefits exclusive to those making regular donations to the Boat Club include regular updates from the CCBC during the year, as well as knowing that you are helping to support the next generation of rowers.
