Christ's goal in its Admissions process is to attract the best and brightest students to the College, regardless of their educational or social background. We are only able to achieve this through our Access Fund, and the generous donations of our alumni and friends, supporting our efforts to reach those from non-traditional backgrounds to Cambridge, and encourage them to consider applying.
This is achieved in a number of ways: Open Days, Residentials, and subject taster sessions at College; extracurricular enrinchment via programmes run alongside schools in our HE+ areas; travel both in England, and abroad, to provide application advice lectures and workshops.
Recently, with the help of Project Access, we have developed specific mentoring schemes for offer holders from disadvantaged backgrounds, including support leading up to exams. We also provide STEP tutoring for students whose schools do not offer it.
