Nicholas English (1978 -)

 

Nick English is an Olympic Rower and Wold Champion medal winner.

Nick matriculated at Christ's in 1996 and learned to row with Cambridge University lightweights, graduating with a degree in Physics. He gained his first GB vest as an under 23 at Copenhagen in 2000, finishing 7th in the lightweight four, and followed that a few weeks later by winning gold, also in the four, at the World University Championships. At the 2002 World Rowing Championships in Seville Nick won bronze in the lightweight pair; an excellent result in his first full year on the senior team.
In 2003 Nick gained a place in the Olympic class four which qualified for the Athens Olympics by finishing 11th overall.
