 Blades Association

In 2007, the two College rowing associations, Friends of Christ's College Boat Club and Blades were merged under the name of Blades.

The main goals for the new association were to bring together, and maintain contact with, CCBC Alumni, as well as to generate additional support for the Boat Club, to help it continue to flourish and produce world-class rowers.

All ex-rowers automatically become members of this Association, and are invited to annual Alumni events, including the May Bumps Picnic at Osier Holt in Fen Ditton alongside another reception during the year. If you have not been receiving these invitations, and you think your name may be missing from the list of members (held in the Development Office), please do let us know.

Financial support from Alumni of the Boat Club provides the much-needed extra income for the Boat Club, enabling it to buy and maintain equipment, provide good coaching and enter more races. Benefits exclusive to those making regular donations to the Boat Club include daily updates from the CCBC Captains during the Bumps and e-newsletters.

The Blades contact in the Development Office is Rebecca Pitcaithly. Please contact her (using the link above) if you would like to sign up to make a regular donation to the Boat Club.
