“The bells….the bells!” Campanological Musings on Christ’s Clappers and Mystical Manuscripts

Revd Dr Helen Orchard, Chaplain, digs into the archives to discover what can be known about the bells which chime over Christ’s College. Her interest stems from the role bells play in a little-known Franco-Flemish manuscript from the 1300s, where the iconography of these ancient instruments unlocks layers of theological significance in its illuminated miniatures and aids their mystical interpretation.
