Justice Amar Nath Grover (1912-1993)

 

 

Grover was a Judge, Jurist, and chairman of the Press Council of India. He was most famous for his judgement on the constitutional rights case Kesavananda Bharati v State of Kerala. Grover was born in Shwebo, Burma, in 1912. Before reading Law at Christ's, he read a BA in History at Government College, Lahore, and an MA in History at Punjab University. He was awarded his BA and LLB in 1936 and subsequently returned to India to practice law.
