Bindesh P Shah came to Christ's in 1992 to study Economics. After graduating he won a Thouron Scholarship to study for an MBA at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, served as the CEO and Founder of real estate investment group Amiri Capital from 2005-2018, and continues to work in that industry. He also serves on the board of several NHS and performing arts organisations. He is generously funding a Scholarship to support MPhil candidates studying Economics at Christ's College.

"Without the Bindesh P Shah Studentship I would not have been able to accept my offer to study at Christ's College... Simply, it has enabled me to have the full Cambridge experience" - Rachel Lovitt, 2018-19 Scholar

The Bindesh P Shah Scholarship will support an exceptional candidate accepted for an MPhil course in the Faculty of Economics. The scholarship provides a contribution of £18,000 towards the cost of the MPhil course. The Faculty of Economics nominates candidates to College for the scholarship, and one will be chosen to receive the award. The successful candidate must become a member of Christ's College to take up the studentship. More information can be found here. Previous Scholarship recipients have gone on to further study, to work in government, and to work in the commercial sector.

"I am particularly interested in research on inequality and the role of education in bringing about social change... I am currently interested in the use of dynamic discrete choice models to explore the heterogeneous impact of educational policies on different personality types and hope to use this topic for my dissertation in the MPhil." - Jack Kemp, 2022-23 Scholar
